Sleepless scenemaker

Nav Sangha

Sangha has his hand in so many aspects of the local party scene that you have to wonder if he ever closes his eyes for more than a few minutes.

A typical day sees him starting out at Play De Record, the iconic Yonge Street DJ record shop that he co-owns with Jason Palma. Later, he’ll be down at Wrongbar or the Social, the two Queen West hot spots he’s also invested in. Chances are he’ll be DJing somewhere in the city that night – probably opening up for the next big thing at a hipster-friendly electro party or possibly revisiting his early DJ roots by playing jazz-funk alongside some of his old buddies from the Movement Collective. A quick perusal of club-strewn event flyers reveals that he’s also co-promoting some of the hottest underground parties in town. When you add in the record label he’s starting up, Nav Sangha’s starting to look like a one-man nightlife industry.
