VIBE
Tattoo is a brand new rock club that will feature live bands during the week and DJs on the weekends. Definitely a lot more shiny (and a lot less gritty) than any of its local competitors — the decorators may need to dump a layer of grime over the place to make some rockers feel comfortable. There’s a tattoo parlour in the front window, but you have to pass a sobriety test if you want some ink in the middle of the night. Where’s the fun in that?
PAST LIVES
Most recently this spot was the Crystal Room, but it’s better known for its days as the Left Bank. Former owners the Liberty Group still have a hand in it, but they’ve joined forces with club mogul Charles Khabouth this time around.
VALUE
Cover charge depends on the night, and a domestic beer will run you $5.25, a mixed drink $5.75.
BATHROOMS
Like everything else in the place, the bathrooms are shiny, clean and expensive-looking.
