The Barn

THE BARN 418 Church • 416-593-9696 • thebarnnightclub.com

VIBE This iconic gay club has provided a space for dancing and cruising for several generations of homos since 1975. The three floors of partying include a dark back room on the third for “adult action.” The vibe is generally casual and laid-back.

PAST LIVES The historic building has been a gay bar seemingly forever, but after the murder of the former owner Janko Naglic in 2004, it closed down and floated in limbo before reopening a year ago. The new owners have kept to the old formula, with some renovations.

VALUE The cover charge is low or non-existent. A bottle of domestic beer will run you $5.50.

CAN YOU DANCE? There aren’t many proper dance clubs left in the Village any more, but the Barn is still keeping the bass pounding and asses moving.
