THE CENTRAL 603 Markham, 416-913-4586
This laid-back watering hole in the Annex has a small stage for live acts and two spacious licensed patios. There's bar food on the menu and a foosball table on the second floor if you're not interested in the live entertainment.
This spot has been through various incarnations as a bar and restaurant, most recently as the Red Guitar Art House Café and before that the True Grits Soul Shack. It's currently closest in vibe to its days as the Red Guitar.
There's generally no cover, and a bottle of domestic beer will cost you $4.
CAN YOU DANCE?
This is definitely not a dance club, but it's possible that with the right band you might see a bit of boogie action in front of the stage.
