The Flaming Lips come to NXNE

The Flaming Lips – the psychedelic Oklahoma band who’ve appeared on Beverly Hills 90210, headlined SXSW and Lollapolooza and collaborated with Ke$ha – are taking over Yonge-Dundas Square for a free show during NXNE this summer.

On Saturday, June 16, the Lips bring their ecclectic live show to downtown Toronto for NXNE’s biggest night.

The Flaming Lips have been active since 1983, but their live show has become more unpredictable in each passing year. The concerts have been known to include hundreds of balloons, celebrities in costume, pyrotechnics, lead singer Wayne Coyne in a hamster ball and electric light performances.

In 1999, they released their opus The Soft Bulletin, an album they’ve been playing in full on tour recently. The band has also taken to performing Pink Floyd’s classic The Dark Side Of The Moon too.

What do they have in store for NXNE?
