This week’s must-see Toronto shows

Yamantaka//Sonic Titan

Friday (January 18), 9 pm, at the Garrison (1197 Dundas West). $13. RT, SS, TW.

The Montreal/Toronto collective’s debut album, YT//ST, is still blowing minds with its genre-bending collision of Asian pop, doom metal, ambient, psychedelia, folk, art rock and opera. However, you can’t get a real sense of how ambitious and innovative they are until you catch their highly theatrical live show in person. No surprise that they made both NOW’s year-end best albums and concerts lists.
