This week’s must-see Toronto shows

Mo Kenney

The young Halifax singer/songwriter has been billed as a Joel Plaskett protege, but her songs and voice are definitely good enough to attract attention without his endorsement. Her 2012 self-titled debut was so strong that it spurred talent-spotters at Massey Hall to book her for the Canadian Songbook At The Rivoli series, which is designed to shine a spotlight on the emerging artists they hope will someday be playing the big soft-seater venues.
