This week’s must-see Toronto shows

No Joy

Montreal-based Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd attempt to shake off the shoegaze tag with a studio-produced new album, Wait To Pleasure, that ups the hooks and takes White-Gluz’s ethereal vocals out of the shadows and into the light. Relatively speaking. The double-guitar onslaught still roars and thunders, and expect plenty of pedals splayed around the mic stands at their Garrison show. No Joy open for long-running English art rockers Clinic, whose own excellent new album, Free Reign II, came out last month.
