This week’s must-see Toronto shows

Charles Bradley

Charles Bradley has only two solo albums, dating back to 2010, but the sexagenarian exudes the classic, angsty soul of the genre’s glory days. This is fist-clenching, head-thrown-back love- and life-struggle singing. If the live YouTube video of instant classic and debut album standout Why Is It So Hard (shot in Austin with backing by the Menahan Street Band) is a concert preview, get ready for an impassioned, sweaty, funk-fuelled set.
