This week’s must-see Toronto shows

Horse Meat Disco

Horse Meat Disco is a four-person DJ collective dedicated to the “industry of human happiness.” Every Sunday night at a Vauxhall gay bar in London, England, the members – James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino – pump out underground and Italo disco and whatever rarities strike their fancy.

They call it a queer party for everyone: homos, heteros, club kids, bears, naturists, drag queens…. And lucky for us, they take their show on the road. In support of Horse Meat Disco IV, their first compilation album since 2012, they play the Black Eagle on Church this weekend.

The comp features original and contemporary deep disco tunes, including Opal’s Ain’t No Way, Shahid Mustaf MC’s Getting To Know MC and Rena’s I Love Your Beat (Play It Again Sam). Sounds like a sweaty, joyous good time.
