Upcoming, Benefit for Breast Cancer, April 16, Reverb
Not making the cut for the Special Olympics was a terrible blow to everyone's favourite local mentally challenged asscore legends, the 3tards . But they've decided to keep on truckin' and offer the first annual Benefit for Breast Cancer Research Sunday (April 16) at the Reverb (651 Queen West).
"Everyone in the band has been affected by breast cancer," says bassist Fox Tard . "We all have family members who are currently sick, have survived or, in a couple of unfortunate cases, have not."
That sucks. And breast cancer sucks, not only for the women who suffer from it but for those who care about them. It sucks for everyone.
"We're obviously not crusaders, as our lyrical content can attest, but we really believe in this, and so do all the other bands who have donated their time to play this show, the club, which was also donated for the evening, and everyone involved in helping out to put the show on."
The other bands include the Heatscores , Murdersquad TO and punk moms Pantychrist . Doors open early, at 5 pm. The first 300 people get a 3tards button and a pink ribbon. For 10 bucks you get to contribute to a good cause and rock out to songs like Gay Heavy Metal Singer and Sodomy Road.
