Get Your Park on

For the second year in a row the David Suzuki Foundation is throwing a Homegrown Park Crawl to celebrate local food, music and nature. Happening in four parks – Christie Pits, Bickford Park, Fred Hamilton Park and Trinity Bellwoods – the event sees David Suzuki himself participate in the musical parades that move participants between the parks by foot, bike and portaged canoe. Musicians on hand include jazz collective Heavyweights Brass Band, Afro-Brazilian stilt-drumming troupe MaracaTALL and percussionists Samba Squad. And there will be food galore. Things kick off at Christie Pits at 10 am, and attendees should bring their own plates and mugs. davidsuzuki.org/parkcrawl
