Unity Charity launches hip-hop programs

Youth empowerment non-profit Unity Charity has launched as series of weekly drop-in programs for youth interested in honing their MC, turntable and b-boy skills.

In partnership with Canadian bank Tangerine, Unity is adding several hip-hop-related topics to its list of community programs. Kids and teens between 10 and 18 can learn MC and turntable foundations, breakdancing and beat box battling basics, musicality, physical wellness and cultural -context.

The drop-in programs take place at the Malvern Family Resource Centre, SKETCH, Rightfoot Dance Studio, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Don Montgomery Community Centre, St. Aidan Catholic School, Art Starts and Mississauga’s City Hall Fitness Studio.
