Their grand idea of Sunday night becoming the new Saturday might not have caught on, but full props are due nonetheless to the organizers of Wavelength.
The zine/Web site/weekly Sunday social turns two this weekend, celebrating 100 pay-what-you-can independent rock, pop and electronic shows with a three-night road trip around local clubs.
Fourteen bands and three DJs bring Wavelength to Clinton’s Friday (February 8) and Rancho Relaxo Saturday (February 9) before it returns to its current home at Lee’s Palace Sunday (February 10). In addition, there’s a Wavelength Trade Show Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Sneaky Dee’s, featuring goods from a handful of Toronto indie labels as well as a live set by the Magnetars.
Admission for every show is, of course, pay what you can.
