Wroxeter

1564 Queen West, 416-850-9245 Rating: NNNNN

VIBE The Wroxeter is a small restaurant/lounge that’s been open since the summer, between the newly-developed end of Queen West and Roncesvalles. Friday and Saturday DJs play classic funk and soul, rock and other sounds. The vibe is pretty chill, more like a neighbourhood bar than anything else. Bonus: a large selection of bottled beers at reasonable prices.

DANCING OR CHILLING Should you get itchy feet, there is space to dance, but it’s obviously not the bar’s primary purpose. There are plenty of booths for relaxing, though.

BATHROOMS During our visit, the men’s bathroom was being repaired, but the sole women’s stall was in decent shape, considering it was the only working toilet in the place.

OUTDOOR ACCESS There’s a tiny licensed front patio, meaning you can take your drink outside when you go for a smoke.
