Nasty's the norm
Lib supporters have their homes spray-painted and their cars' brake cables cut. Blame the pollsters who keep telling us that the public doesn't give a shit about civility during election campaigns - the dirtier the better. Hey, it's worked for the Tories.
NDP's Parkdale problem
Strategic voting helps Lib Gerard Kennedy defeat popular NDP MP Peggy Nash in Parkdale-High Park. Talk of Nash running for the provincial NDP leadership heats up but never really takes off. Her Parkdale riding is held provincially by fellow Dipper Cheri DiNovo, a political ally whose own name has been whispered for party leadership. Too bad for Nash.
Douglas Coupland's monument to the War of 1812, unveiled at the foot of Bathurst, proves a traffic stopper. Too bad the cookie-cutter condo acting as the backdrop ruins the scene.
Frank no more
After a wild 19-year ride excoriating the champagne set, Frank Magazine and eFrank.ca are kaput, this time for good. Time to move on. No joke.
