Some mid-August days, you stare down an abundance of actual, substantial news stories and wonder, "Is there a quick, easy, and semi-interesting thing about Rob Ford I can post?"
And then you receive a piece of mail, personally addressed to you at your office, with "Rob and Renata Ford and family, 223 Edenbridge Drive" printed as the return address.
And you find inside a cryptic note signed "Yours, The Left Wing" on the reverse of a letter containing what appears to be a pair of confusing artist statements concerning six business cards folded therein.
And you look at the cards, three of which are multi-hued riffs on the Deco Labels & Tags logo and three of which feature Ford's campaign insignia encircled by a rainbow.
And you turn them over to see the messages "Deco supports LGBTTIQQ2SA preferences" and "Rob Ford effs gay people all the time" and wonder whether Doug Ford has embarked on a new project to screw with your head or maybe there really is an artist out there who considers this their work.
And you decide not to ask any questions, because the merest hint of an explanation will ruin the whole thing. As a Rob Ford mystery, it's fine to post.
