The trans movement is growing in numbers and visibility, and programs meeting the needs of that population need a hefty financial infusion. The Comedy Whore night, starring trans stand-up Mandy Goodhandy and other supportive artists, raises funds for the 519 Church Community Centre‘s essential trans programs on Saturday (August 29) at Club 120 (120 Church). 8 pm till late. 2. CYCLE CHALLENGE
Racing, scavenging and fun is the name of the game in the Brompton Urban Challenge on Saturday (August 29). The two-wheeled adventure starting at Nathan Phillips Square and ending with a picnic on the Toronto Islands is for a good cause, with proceeds going to Cycle Toronto. All bikes welcome. 10 am. $20.
