The Blue Jays are now only one game away from winning the World Series after scoring 6-1 against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday and taking the lead in the competition.

The Toronto team showed off their skills from the first moments of the match, after Davis Schneider opened Game 5 with an impressive home run for the Jays. After him, this year’s star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. also scored a home run, making the Jays the first team to ever lead a World Series game with a back-to-back home run.

Also making history was starting pitcher Trey Yesavage who became the first rookie to have 12 strikeouts in a World Series game.

Guerrero and Ernie Clement also continued to score impressive hits, becoming the first teammates to record over 25 hits in a single postseason.

The Rogers Centre lit up with fans that were absolutely electrified by the win, and are now prepared to receive the home team back in Toronto.

The team will be back in the city for Game 6 on Friday, where the Jays could become world champions for the first time since 1993. If necessary, Game 7 will also be held at the Rogers Centre on Saturday.
