Here’s a name you’ll hear on every hipsters’ lips two weeks from now: Mark Ronson. Known for his sterling production of Amy Winehouse’s Rehab and Back To Black, the NYC celebrity DJ drops Stop Me – the first single from his upcoming CD, Version, – on April 9. This radical r ‘n’ b re-working of The Smiths’ Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before has created such a buzz ‘over ‘ome, it’s expected to enter the UK charts next week at number 1. Brit crits are already calling the joint – which incorporates snippets of the Supremes’ You Keep Me Hanging On in the mix – this year’s Gnarls Barkley.
How hot is Stop Me? Pitchfork.com hasn’t even heard of it yet!
