Turns out the big “exclusive” interview with Stockwell Day in local gay mag Fab last week wasn’t much of an exclusive at all. A careful reader will note that the same Q and A had already run in the Montreal Mirror June 8.
While the media across the country went nuts with writer Matthew Hay’s grilling of the Alliance leader on his gay stance, Fab scooped up all the glory.
“I told (Fab) I would give it to them exclusively in the Toronto market. I guess they put the word “exclusive’ on because newspapers like to do that sort of thing,” laughs Hays, who’s an associate editor at the Mirror.
Fab editor John Kennedy counters, “It’s never run in a gay magazine before, and it’s never run in Ontario before.”
