Last day of the Fringe, and still time to catch some of its hits.
In addition to the previously scheduled shows, the Patron's Picks play at various times in 11 of the venues. All the tickets are available in advance , so it might be worth booking them -- you can do this up to three hours before a performance -- rather than just showing up at the venue. The box office is split 50-50 between the artists and the Fringe. Check fringetoronto.com for performance times.
Here's the list of Patron's Picks:
Between Commutes - St. Vladimir's Theatre
One-Woman Show - Robert Gill
The Movies (Abridges) - Theatre Passe Muraille Mainspace
Domestic - Theatre Passe Muraille Backspace
Nursery School Musical - Factory Mainspace
Mr. Fox - Factory Studio
Bluebeard - Tarragon Mainspace
Wake - Tarragon Extra Space
Gameshow: The Musical - Royal St. George's Auditorium
Damages - George Ignatieff Theatre
Wild About Harry - Helen Gardiner Phelan Playhouse
For some of the companies, it's going to be a long day. Because of previous scheduling, Between Commutes and Gameshow: The Musical do two shows back to back.
Other troupes have a bit more time, but still perform twice today: One-Woman Show, Nursery School Musical and Bluebeard.
Still can't catch these shows? Some come back within the next few weeks. Domestic has a two-week run at the Passe Muraille Backspace, while several others -- Wake, Nursery School Musical, Gameshow: The Musical and One-Woman Show -- are part of the Best Of The Fringe, running in rep at the Diesel Playhouse starting Wednesday (July 16) and closing July 27.
Other shows taking part in the Best Of The Fringe are Lupe: Undone (interesting to see how it works without the BYOV atmosphere of Honest Ed's loading dock), The Swearing Jar and The Christian Republican Fundraiser In Dayton Tennessee.
We at NOW will take a short break from in-town theatre festivals, but we'll be back to cover SummerWorks, running August 7-17.
