One of our finest playwrights, Judith Thompson works creatively in a number of ways, including developing new talent as a prof at the University of Guelph.
Several years ago she collaborated with a group of women to write about issues of body image and self-esteem, shaping the script Body And Soul that they performed. At last year’s Next Stage, she used the same process to share the stories of young people dealing with chronic illness the acclaimed result was The Grace Project.
Now Thompson’s working with nine people with Down syndrome who will share their experiences in a work called Rare. It’s sure to be moving, dramatic and uplifting.
From July 5 at the Tarragon Mainspace.
