Metrolinx said it’s going ahead with its 5 in 10 plan – LRTs on Sheppard East, Eglinton Crosstown, and Finch expansion of the Scarborough RT and VIVA buses in York region – which means the deal to buy 182 Bombardier streetcars for $770 mil (or less than a Harper G20 weekend outing) is chugging ahead, albeit a far cry from the original Transit City plan.
