Happening NOW: September 16, 2010

What’s happening September 16, 2010:

See the photo above? Looks like any old dirt road, right? It’s just as lifeless but in this case all that grey is dead fish at the mouth of the Mississippi. The cause of the mass death isn’t confirmed, but I’m going to cough right now and it’s going to sound like “BP”.

You know who else wants you packed uncomfortably together like sardines? Airlines. The U.S.’s FAA is deciding whether it will allow them to install saddle-equiped near-standing spaces so more people can be imprisoned on cheap flights.

One prisoner – a real one in Kentucky – might be barred from filing lawsuits. Lawsuit Zeus, as he calls himself, is up to 3,800 and has gone after folks like George W. Bush and Plato. My personal favourite is suing the Dave Matthews Band because he found their music offensive. Sadly, that particular case was dismissed.

Oh! And how can one not mention TV tainter Kory Teneycke. He just jumped off the barely afloat SUN TV News ship.

Finally, a recent study shows video games teach us to make the right decisions faster. Tell that to the mom whose video game addiction killed the dog and left her kids neglected.
