I had high hopes for the new New Orleans-set cop drama K-Ville. Set post-Katrina and starring Cole Hauser (son of the awesome straight-to-video star Wings Hauser) and Anthony Anderson (who kicked all kinds of ass as the heavy on The Shield a couple seasons back), it tries hard to reflect life in the still decimated city. Unfortunately, after checking out the first episode (Monday at 9 on CBS) it was all-too-obvious that this was just another mildly entertaining cop drama – albeit one with a location ripe for storytelling – full of gangland-style drive-by shootings and messed up marriages as the too-old-for-this-shit Crockett and Tubbs (Hauser and Anderson) butt heads on how to get the job done. Consider this an opportunity wasted.
