McCain can’t use a computer?

I’m loving’ this. John McCain’s been campaigning on the basic principle that he’s a man of the people and Barack Obama is just a citified elitist know-nothing propped up by privileged elites. [rssbreak]

Then the Republican candidate admits he doesn’t know how to use a computer.

Not only does he not know how to send an email, he gets his staff to do it for him. Gee, do they brush his teeth for him too?

Were McCain campaigning as an enlightened Luddite that might be one thing – though it surely would be a bad political strategy. I mean, he could have argued that he wants to stay focussed and finds the gadgetry too distracting. But his staff sending the emails makes his confession take on a whole new meaning.

Should the U.S. be led by a guy who can’t manage what has become a compulsory practice in schools and business ?

Should the U.S. be led by a guy who cannot comprehend the basic experience of the average American?

Should the U.S. be led by a guy who, by dint of having no idea how to deal with basic tech, can’t put into context the planet’s most important business developments. (Should the U.S. be led by a man who’s never been fucked over by a cell phone provider, for that matter?) ‘

Should the U.S. be led by a guy who demeans his staff by making them perform a task easily undertaken by a 10 year-old?

This last is the key – “Oh, I’ll just leave that to my assistant,” we can hear him say.

And he’s calling Obama elitist?
