Michael “Pinball” Clemons

Rating: NNNNN

What do you love most about Toronto, and why?

There are a lot of things we can talk about — the theatre, the city’s diversity — but central to me is the heart of the city, its people. If I can quote Oliver Wendell Holmes, “The great thing in this world is not so much where we stand as in what direction we are moving.”

If you were mayor for a day, what one thing would you change?

I think we’re all in a position to change things. If you’re waiting for someone or something to give you that authority, you’re not being responsible. I’m not about saying, “This is what I would do.” Why not just do it? For me right now, the Stop The Violence initiative is really important, and starting a foundation that will begin to create some preventative programs for troubled youth.
