Who's dissing Parkdale Community Legal Services, and why do they want disgruntled clients to call Enzo Di Matteo at NOW?
An anonymous flyer being circulated around the community claims, "(M)ost people who use (Parkdale Legal) are given bad advice, are poorly represented or are rejected for legal aid...."
It also charges that the legal clinic, which largely represents down-and-out tenants and citizens who often can't otherwise afford lawyers, "spent $150,000 to create new luxury offices," is endorsing city councillor Chris Korwin-Kuczynski for re-election and is "trying to destroy" two local tenant associations.
It gives a number for Legal Aid Ontario, as well as Di Matteo's name and NOW's phone number.
Parkdale paralegal Elinor Mahoney says all the allegations are false. "Our suspicion is that it's the work of one person."
Di Matteo says he's received four calls already, and he's not sure how his name got on the poster. SA
