EARTH HOUR TURN-OFF

Unplug, turn off the lights and savour a brief vacation from voltage to mark the World Wildlife Fund’s global Earth Hour, Saturday (March 23) from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. Many celebrate the hour – aimed at drawing attention to climate change and the overconsumption of fossil fuels – privately with candlelit dinners, but there are public gatherings, too, like the WWF’s Lantern Walk starting at 8 pm at Grafton Avenue Park or the Revue Cinema at 300 Roncesvalles and ending with a concert at 8:30 pm at Roncesvalles and Wright featuring SPLASH, Andrew Huang, the Lucas Stagg Band and others. Free. For more Earth Hour events, see wwf.ca.
