Ontario is reporting 95 new cases of COVID-19, an increase over yesterday’s number.
Provincial public health officials confirmed 33 new infections yesterday, the lowest number since March 18.
“Locally, 28 of the province’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 16 of them reporting no new cases,” Health Minister Christine Elliott said.
“With 134 more resolved, we continue to see a decline in the number of active cases,” she added. “Hospitalizations, ICU admissions and vented patients all decreased as well.”
Medical labs in the province processed 24,572 in the past 24 hours.
One person has died since yesterday, bringing the provincial death toll to 2,787.
Ontario’s total COVID-19 case count stands at 40,289, and more than 90 per cent of those cases – or 36,590 – are resolved.
There are now 49 patients in hospitals across the province, with 20 in intensive care and 10 in intensive care on ventilators.
