Halton police are looking for a suspect and appealing to the public for information after a 20-year-old woman was shot in the head on Monday. 

The incident happened early Monday morning when the victim was leaving The Playground Global in Burlington. 

Multiple rounds were fired at the victim’s vehicle while she was leaving the gym, and one struck her in the head, according to a news release on Monday. 

The woman was taken to hospital and is now in serious but stable condition. It is not yet known if the victim was targetted. 

The suspect is believed to have been standing outside of a vehicle at the time of the shooting, and to have fled the scene northbound on Century Drive towards South Service Road in a light-coloured vehicle. 

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information ort dash cam footage of the area to come forward.
