Ready to roll with Forza Motorsport 2

When Forza first rolled on to the screens of the Xbox it was a glorious thing to behold. Released near the end of the original Xbox’s life the graphics and controls were outstanding. Forza was simulation racer worthy of going head to head with Gran Turismo.

The original formula that made Forza so great has been tweaked and enhanced for it’s recent Xbox 360 release. Let’s be clear, Forza is a racing sim, it’s realism is what makes it so astounding, the controls, the tuning of the car, the tracks – every aspect makes it feel like driving. If simulation is not your thing and you are more into arcade style racing, keep your eyes open for Dirt coming out soon (a demo is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace right now).

Forza is one of those highly addictive games that is really hard to put down. Races generally last only a few minutes and there are plenty of them to take part in. Every car handles differently so driving the same course in a rear-wheel, front-wheel and all-wheel drive can be a completely different experience. To make sure you keep going they’ve laid on the rewards in an extra heavy coating. You’ve got your standard Xbox achievements, you as a driver get to level up, but your cars also level up. There are constant bonuses for winning races, cars being awarded to you and other incentives. Forza really knows how to keep your mouth watering for more.

Or if racing isn’t your thing and your more an artist type, you could spend days doing nothing more than painting your cars. Just check out these Disney themed cars to see what I mean. The editor is great but spend a few minutes in it and you’ll really appreciate the work that has gone into some of these custom designs.

What does one do when they’ve got so many cars they don’t know what to do? Well now you can turn to the online auction and sell your rare cars and custom designs. When you’re done at the auction house you can race others online or just watch Forza Motorsports TV to see current races or tournaments taking place.

Forza Motorsport 2 is clearly sitting in the winner’s circle. Take it for a test drive today.
