Cycling east on Queen West - ever the contrarian - I pull up to the curb for a red light at Bay. Coming to a stop, I take a quick glance of the street scene. To my right, suits drink double mocha-chinos in a coffee shop attached to a bank. On my left, chip trucks line up in front of City Hall. In front of me, pedestrians race through the crosswalk dodging oncoming traffic.
And then it registers. Was that an official-looking sign attached to the lamppost in front of me reading, "Homeless warming grate. Please keep clear October to May?"
I give it a week until some City employee notices.
