Students cry ripoff in bank machine swap

OTTAWA — Canada’s instalment of the World March of Women drew thousands to the nation’s capital last Sunday (October 15). They presented a list of demands to the prime minister, including cancellation of the debts of the 53 poorest countries and grants to enable access to post-secondary education.

An elderly woman spoke about her $80-a-month company pension. To make the point of housing shortages, another woman rewrote the national anthem: “Oh Canada, give us roofs over our heads. Don’t give taxes, give us housing instead….”
