Christian Dior
The French haute couture house marked 70 years with a major exhibition in Paris earlier this year. The ROM is also feting the iconic designer with a show devoted exclusively to creations from 1947-1957, many worn and donated by Toronto women. As France’s clothing industry recovered from the Second World War, Dior helped bring flamboyance and femininity back to Paris fashion. The exhibit is more of a time capsule than a retrospective, and features 100-plus objects, including 38 designs.
