The top five looks from Toronto Fashion Week so far

The first two days of Toronto Fashion Week saw a ton of homegrown talent hit the runway. From edgy biker jackets to glitzy gowns, the collections can be a lot to take in. Luckily, weve been front row at every show to curate and share the best designs. Here are five of our favourite looks from the week so far (in no particular order). Let us know what you think in the comments!

Designer Nikki Wirthensohn of Narces is at her best when she designs intricate cocktail dresses with standout beading and embroidery. This pretty red number wont blend into a crowd, but is also classic enough for almost any occasion.

Montreal designer Melissa Nepton was inspired by romantic warriors for the fall/winter 2015 season. We love this all-black ensemble with trendy wide-leg trousers that are equal parts strict and feminine.

Sid Neigum can always be counted on for a dose of much-needed creativity in a country where clothes are often solely judged on how sellable they are. We were pleased to see the young designer evolve his unique modular origami technique after winning the Mercedes-Benz Start Up competition last season.

Mikhael Kale is known for his attention to detail, and this dress proves why. His precise beading and unique pattern making turn this dress into a veritable work of art. The circular cutouts may not be for everyone, but at least theyre something new on the runway.

We didnt like waiting an extra 45 minutes at the end of a long night for Pink Tartans team to set up a cloud installation on the runway, but we did like these cool-casual culottes and oversized army green jumper.
