Destiny 22nd Anniversary Party

Habari Music Fest at Harbourfront Centre

This comprehensive festival includes something for everyone. In just three days, you can enjoy performances by international artists including: Rocky Dawuni whose melodic, pioneering Afro-Roots sound has garnered him success across Africa, the Caribbean and the U.S. Dawuni has performed with musical greats such as Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Jason Mraz and Janelle Monae. Enjoy a dance and theatre showcase performed by So You Think You Can Dance alum Esie Mensah. Other festivities include a screening of the Oscar-nominated Timbuktu by director Abderrahmane Sissako, good eats, art, workshops and so much more! August 14-16. TIME Festival

TIME Festival takes over Fort York Garrison grounds this weekend. Die Antwoord headlines the all-ages event featuring an exciting, mixed bag of performers. Performances by Mac DeMarco, Ariel Pink, Alison Wonderland, DIIV and more. Doors at noon. All ages w/ 19+ area. $25-$50. SummerWorks Performance Festival’s 25th Anniversary Party

The organizers behind this year’s SummerWorks Festival are shutting down Dovercourt Road and throwing a party. Beginning at 4 pm, the event will be headlined by the Lemon Bucket Orkestra with appearances by Maylee Todd, Buck 65 and Baque de Bamba. Free. See website for more details.

Edgefest 3

Edgefest revellers will be heading to Echo Beach for the third date of this year’s Edgefest Summer Concert Series. E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial @ The Royal

Earl Sweatshirt

Due to high demand, Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt rescheduled his Toronto stop of the Not Ready 2 Leave Tour from April in favour of a bigger venue. He’s one of the most talented proprietors of the OFWGKTA collective and hands down one of this year’s must-see acts. Featuring Remy Banks and Vince Staples. Phoenix Concert Theatre 410 Sherbourne. Christie Pits Film Festival

This week the Christie Pits Film Fest will be screening one of Paul Thomas Anderson’s best, There will Be Blood, as part of its Great Villains series.
