Was anyone else pleasantly surprised to see Bloc Party’s outspoken Kele Okereke so au courrant about Toronto’s club and restaurant scene the other week in NOW? The British singer lists the Drake, Julie’s and Sweaty Betty’s as his favourite spots to hang when he’s in town.
But it looks like the west-side is about to see even more of the guy. In its March 24th issue, UK rock bible New Musical Express www.nme.com reports that Okereke is less than enamoured with London and hopes to move abroad.
“People need to move,” says Okereke. “You get restless if you spend too much time in one place. And that’s what I’m going through now. I’m seriously thinking about relocating in the next year. I’d like to move to Berlin or Toronto – the clubs and bars and galleries of London don’t hold the same appeal.”
