Last night, while everyone was asleep in their comfy, cozy beds, the TTC was up until all hours test-driving their shiny new streetcars. Brad Ross, the TTC’s Executive Director of Corporate Communications, tweeted some photos of the new vehicle’s maiden voyage from Hillcrest to Bathurst Station. The new cars are 30 metres long, accommodating 251 passengers (with 70 seats and a maximum standing capacity of 181). They’re expected to be on the tracks by early 2014. In the meantime, ogle the photos and imagine crowding onto one these bad boys, for a smooth ride down Queen Street in the middle of winter. Mmmm….
