“I've always been a straight shooter”
TTC general manager Rick Ducharme blaming political interference for his sudden resignation this week.
Maybe there's more to those union complaints than we knew. Stevie superfreak The PM's such a stud. Nothing like a bust to thwart an alleged bomb plot to get him going à la Bush about how those who resort to terrorism hate our values, our democratic way of life, our freedoms, blah blah blah. Yeah, those backward barbarians need a lesson in what it means to be modern and progressive. Stevie, you fool. Must you always be a pandering birdbrain? That terrorist threat stems from our military involvement in Afghanistan, ya freak.
Say in ain’t so, Joe
Liberal leadership pretender Joe Volpe should be crafting that "I'm outta here" speech now that it has been revealed that his Big Pharma sugar daddies have been making campaign donations under their kids' names. The arrogant sucker deserves it. The only thing he's given voters in his 20-plus years in office is a wet finger in the you know where. Give him a rattle and diaper. Frankly, nothing gets under voters' skins more than a politician who loves himself so much that he can't stop referring to himself in the third person. Ciao, cornuto.
Vaughan looking dead ahead
Citytv newshound Adam Vaughan is sitting a little prettier in Trinity-Spadina now that the NDP has made mincemeat of Tam Goossen. All of a sudden, Trinity is Vaughan's for the taking. But he should really stop dropping references to that unsigned letter of endorsement he got from late local hero Jane Jacobs. Or talking about how he was a child of the long-dead Spadina Expressway wars. It's downright embarrassing. You want cred, Adam, stop flogging the dead.
Cops on party patrol
Beaches ravers, beware. Those coppers who used to flash their emergency lights to the beat of the music at your parties last summer may no be so cool this year. Police at 55 Division have put the public on notice that officers on foot, bike and horseback have embarked on a "parks and party patrol" to make sure "the parks and beaches are kept safe for the law-abiding members of the community." Yikes. The good news is that patrols end July 2. Until then, stash the weed.
