Wellesley Street fire relief

Thanks to the internet, people in the city have been able to get together to help those who’ve been affected by Friday’s fire at 200 Wellesley St. East.

By way of Twitter and this wiki page, a fundraiser is currently being organized for the evening of Thursday September 30th. The location and exact time of the event haven’t been comfirmed yet, but those details and other important updates will be posted here throughout the day.

There are other ways to contribute to the cause even if you can’t make it out Thursday night.

The City of Toronto and Toronto Community Housing have set up ways for monetary donations and other types of offerings to be made. Click here for more information on that.

You could also make a donation to the Salvation Army or to United Way. Both organzations are are working to help the displaced residents.
