Where to watch the election tonight

It’s a big night for the city of Toronto. Is Tory the shoo-in the polls predicted? Will Olivia Chow’s numbers take a beating after a tough campaign? And is it, finally, truly the end of the Ford era?

Join us here for live results and commentary from publisher/editor Michael Hollett, senior news editor Enzo Di Matteo (who will be at the John Tory party), news writer Ben Spurr (from the Olivia Chow camp), news writer Jonathan Goldsbie (who will be in Etobicoke with the Fords) and film critic Norm Wilner (who yesterday was listed twice on this list of Toronto’s most influential local political tweeters). The action will start around 6, but the votes don’t come in until 8 pm.

But if you plan to go out tonight, there’s a ton of great stuff happening, most notably:

– The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema’s Bloor Broadcast: Toronto Votes 2014 is offering a live broadcast and commentary from “Toronto’s premier civic minds.” Even better, there’s booze until 10:30 pm. More info here.

– Would you like some trivia with your election results? Starting at 6:30 pm, the Beaver hosts #TOpoli trivia. Details here.

– Head over to Nathan Phillips Square for Newmindspace’s outdoor party, where organizers plan to take tonight as an opportunity to reflect on the Ford years. Facebook event here.

– And finally, it seems that Olivia Chow’s party is open to the public tonight. Head over to Regent Park to watch the results come in with the candidate NOW endorsed. Details here.
