Who will be making a Memory?

Normally a show devoted to Andrew Lloyd Webber songs would induce projectile vomiting from me, but I have to admit I’m curious to see what those six remaining American Idols choose to sing on tonight’s ALW-themed show.

All of them should avoid anything cheesy and over-used (Music Of The Night), and the women should avoid songs that Sarah Brightman, with her insane range, performed and made famous.

Here are the humble suggestions from a NOW theatre critic/recent American Idol addict:

Brooke: Tell Me On A Sunday (Song And Dance) [and fer chrissakes, Brooke, don’t smile, the way you did singing Dolly Parton’s Jolene]

Carly: Star Quality/”Buenos Aires” (Evita) [you’ve got it, Carly just relax and show it]

David Archuleta: Love Changes Everything (Aspects Of Love) [bland, pretty and sentimental, just like you]

David Cook: Close Every Door To Me (Joseph And The Amazing…) or a rock version of Memory (Cats)

Jason: simple acoustic versions of either Don’t Cry For Me Argentina (Evita) or Memory (Cats) [seriously]

Syesha: some soul version of I Don’t Know How To Love Him (Jesus Christ Superstar) or a simple version of Unexpected Song (Song And Dance)

I’ll check in later to see how they all did…
