How long can public discourse let Harper of the hook on the economy?
Down South, Bush had to go on TV last night to beg for his bail-out. It is good to see that this gigantic crisis at least seems to be taking McCain down with it. As well it should. The irony of government-bashing tax cutters running home to the tax-payers for a hand-out is thankfully not lost on the American electorate.
But what about here? This should be the issue that turns the tide of this election.
The stink on the kinds of economic policies that Harper stands behind has never been more obvious. It is interesting timing that the financial heart of neo-conservatism is being ripped out right in the middle to two election campaigns. This is cause for hope.
