Jasmyn Fyffes Pulse follows in the footsteps of Jack Your Body, which brought down the house at NSTF 2014.

Although Fyffe appeared in that earlier show, shes listed as choreographer for this one, as well as performer. There are some standout sequences: an emotion-drenched duet about a breakup danced to Neither One Of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye) and a soulful ensemble number to Cruisin’.

Theres a good use of the space itself, with dancers grooving down the aisles and a bit of playful audience participation.

But theres a sameness to much of the movement and performers. The effect is like walking into a dance hall where people are doing their thing to Motown and R&B classics. Its entertaining and passes the time, but its not especially novel or original.
