Coors Slice hosts A Slice of Somewhere Nice, the ultimate poolside experience for Torontonians

Last summer, we spent a lot of time relaxing and soaking up the sun with our sweet animal companions – it’s not drinking alone if you have a cat or dog. While they provided us with a sense of camaraderie and didn’t clap back at our dumb jokes, hanging out with friends just hits differently.

Since pandemic-related restrictions are carefully being lifted, it’s safe to say that we can expect a more exciting and enjoyable summer this year.

To help Torontonians have their best summer yet, Coors Slice is hosting A Slice of Somewhere Nice experience from July 7 to 11. This backyard getaway event will feature a luxurious pool, lawn games, a private bartender and cans upon cans of Coors Slice’s new Grapefruit and returning Lime flavours.

“We know this year has been tough and with all of us cooped up inside throughout the winter, we’re excited to offer Torontonians the opportunity to dip their toes in the water and crack open a refreshing Coors Slice,” says Coors brand manager, Kate Hanrahan. “Whether it’s just a hint of flavour or pool time, Coors Slice knows that just a hint goes a long way.”

The five-day activation will take place at a private venue in Mississauga and a professional sanitization crew will be on-site following each group’s departure. This ensures that all cleaning and safety protocols are met before the next group arrives. There will also be a Smart Serve-certified bartender and lifeguard on-site.

Those who know how to lean into a good time will thoroughly enjoy this ultimate summer experience. City-dwellers who snag a spot can enjoy the backyard oasis for a few hours while catching some rays, sipping refreshing beer and sharing laughs with their friends.

If you’re looking to secure a spot at the hottest event of the summer, reservations can be made at asliceofsomewherenice.com. The one-of-a-kind summer experience is free and Torontonians can sign up for the slot of their choosing. From there, they will be added to a waitlist, which is compiled in first come, first served order.

Reservations will close on June 27 and those who qualify for the spots will be notified on June 28. Once you’re notified, toss your most colourful bathing suit into a backpack and start counting down the days to the event.

“At Coors, we’ve always been known for bringing special experiences to the public, from festivals and snow events to sports games and more,” says Hanrahan. “We’re no stranger to creating experiences where our products can be enjoyed and people can have fun.”

If there’s anything that Toronto residents are yearning for, it’s fun and excitement. Bingeing hours of Netflix, cross-stitching curse words into a dainty pattern and baking banana bread is no longer bringing us the joy that it used to. We’re beyond ready to kickback with our friends by the pool with a cold drink in-hand – a Coors Slice to be exact. It’s truly the perfect balance of citrus and the taste of Coors we know and love.

“This past year has been quite different for all of us but with restrictions starting to ease and small groups allowed to gather outdoors, we wanted to create an opportunity to bring a few friends together to soak up a slice of summer in a safe and fun way,” says Hanrahan. “We have been very careful to ensure everything we do follows Government guidelines and safety protocols.”

If you’re not selected to attend the experience, there’s nothing stopping you –not even restrictions – from hosting your own summer shaker. Pick up a pack of Coors Slice, in grapefruit or lime, at your local Beer Store or LCBO and soak up a slice of summer from your own backyard.
