You always know when Richard Ryder's in the room. His hall-filling laugh -- somewhere between a giggle and an explosion -- is unmistakable. So is his stage presence. The openly gay stand-up's a regular at Monday's ALT.COMedy Lounge at the Rivoli (January 28) and Wednesday's Open-Mike night at Spirits (January 30). He's also part of a unique lineup Sunday (January 27) at Theatre Passe Muraille, where he moonlights as a bartender. Titled All About Us, the one-nighter features various TPM staff (Ryder, performance poet Sandra Alland and singer/songwriter Shauna Major) and three invited guests doing their thing in the best theatre schmooze spot in the city, Passe Muraille's bar area.
