Rick Wharton's best known as the Space Channel's trench coat-wearing, over-caffeinated Conspiracy Guy. But there's no conspiracy about why his annual Yo Adrian! comedy benefit has become one of the biggest events of the year. There's lots of talent involved, and a big heart. The fun-filled funder, now in its seventh year, features a bunch of A-list comics including Bridgitte Gall, Harry Doupe, Teresa Pavlinek, Russell Peters, the Illustrated Men and Wharton himself. They take to the stage with musicians Rik Emmett, John McDermott and other celebs to raise cash for Barrett House, a residence for folks living with HIV/AIDS. Saturday (December 8) at CBC's Glenn Gould Studio. In the event of a CBC strike, look up www.rickwharton.com for details.
