Theatre Passe Muraille audiences have a thing goin' on with Mrs. Cathy Jones. The CODCO founding member and This Hour Has 22 Minutes vet has graced the stage in hits like Wedding In Texas and Cod On A Stick. She returns there this week for her new comedy, Me, Dad, & The Hundred Boyfriends. The solo piece uses slides, video and Jones's wry humour to examine 35 years of datin' the fellas. And, yes, Jones's alter ego sex expert Babe Bennett makes an appearance.
A hundred boyfriends, huh? So who was the best? You are, baby.
What would the World Health Organization say about your show? "SARSriffic!!!"
What would Babe Bennett's NOW personal ad say? "If you like piña coladas and goofin' around in the rain..."
What does CODCO stand for? CODCO is Sanskrit for "karma is real."
If you and Mary Walsh got into a wrestling ring, who'd win? Add some Jell-O and the only loser would be her husband - yeow!!!
Who'd watch? Bunchasickfux.
Who should play you in the film version of your life story? We're looking at me for my age, and Mickey Rooney for me as a young black man.
How will the CBC cutbacks affect your life? Some of my producers will have less money, I'm thinkin'.
Late-night guilty pleasure? I don't feel guilty, and the monkey seems to enjoy it.
